The “Baiterek” Holding is engaged in the comprehensive support of small and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan. More than 66 thousand projects to the amount of 4,3 trillion Tenge have been supported since the establishment of the holding. Thus, the “Baiterek” Holding being the key financial institution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, actively participates in the implementation of the main socially significant government programs, from providing the population with affordable housing to supporting large industrial projects.
Damu
“Damu” Entrepreneurship Development Fund” JSC was established based on the Decree No 665 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 26 April 1997 “On the establishment of small business development fund”. The Fund's mission is to play an active role in the sustainable development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kazakhstan, through the implementation of comprehensive and effective support tools. The “Damu” Fund provides financial and non-financial support to to small and medium-sized businesses.
Since 2002, the Fund began lending to small businesses directly from its own funds. The “Damu” Fund had implemented “Lending Program for Small Businesses from the National Budget” and “Small Cities Development Program for years 2004-2006”.
Since 2010 the “Damu” Fund has been a financial agent for subsidization of interest rates on loans to businesses and provision of banks with guarantees on entrepreneurs’ loans, and acting as an operator of training and consulting programs as part of the “Business Road Map 2020” government program (hereinafter – BRM 2020).
Since 2015 the “Damu” Fund has been a financial agent, implementing and monitoring financial support (subsidies for interest rates on loans to businesses, providing guarantees to banks on entrepreneurs’ loans) as part of the “Business Road Map 2020” Unified business support and development program.
The “Damu” Fund has more than 20 years of experience in supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan. Until 2010, most of the participants in the “Damu” Fund programs received financial support as part of programs for conditional placement of funds in second-tier banks. The implementation of programs for conditional placement of funds has played an important role in reducing the overall level of interest rates on loans to small and medium-size
