What does a consultation consist of?

At the consultation, the doctor will ask you about complaints, time of the certain symptoms onset, concomitant diseases, results of previous treatment procedures, and will carefully study the available medical documentation. It is necessary, if possible, to answer all the questions in more detail, because maximum information is required in order to determine the possibility of prescribing certain procedures and identify contraindications to them.

After analyzing the data obtained, the doctor will prepare comprehensive recommendations for further treatment tactics or, if necessary, prescribe additional diagnostic procedures.

How to prepare for the first doctor’s appointment:

  • Have (if any) the maximum package of medical documents on hand: X-ray pictures, mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET (investigation results must be on films or recorded on a CD-carrier), histological and cytological "slides", medical history or extracts from medical documents.
  • Write down questions and concerns you want to discuss with the doctor at the first appointment.

Following these recommendations will save your and the doctor's time.

After the initial appointment with a specialist, an individual plan for the necessary follow-up examination is developed for the patient.

Duration of the entire diagnostic stage depends on the complexity of the case and availability of examination results.

For a repeated visit, the patient immediately goes to the office of his attending physician. An outpatient medical record will be prepared in advance. It is also necessary to make a previous appointment for a repeated consultation.

Case management concilium

In our Center, in accordance with the international best practice, a diagnosis is not made by a specialist alone, each case is submitted to a concilium - a multidisciplinary commission, which includes doctors of different profiles: oncologists, urologists, gynecological oncologists, etc.

Why concilium?

It is the concilium that develops a treatment tactics, defines all its stages. Cancer treatment is a whole range of methods, a combination of radiation therapy, chemotherapy or targeted therapy. This approach is the standard in the modern medical world.
