26.07.2021

Today the Internet is full of information about cancer, its treatment, prevention and factors that cause it. But you should not believe everything that the network gives you - every person should understand that a consultation with an experienced doctor will replace your hours of searching for information on the network.

People often read articles from unknown authors, acquire information incorrectly, distorted and may not be aware of all aspects of the disease itself and treatment methods. Therefore, we decided to open the screen and dispel the most common myths about cancer that are walking on the Internet, and through it in the people heads.

  • Smoking causes only lung cancer

Smoking is 30% of the cancer causes, but not only of the lung cancer. These are the larynx, oral cavity, stomach, even breast cancer and cervical cancer, although, it would seem, what a connection. But the statistics clearly shows it. The most malignant variants of the tumor are exactly in those women who smoke.

  • Breast cancer develops from tight bras and deodorants

It's a lie. A breast tumor depends on the hormonal status, the more stable it is, the lower the risk. Women have hormonal surges, which are regulated, with the use of contraceptives as well. A long course of taking pills will not provoke cancer, but, on the contrary, promotes its prevention. As for deodorants and other cosmetics, the chemicals in their composition do not affect changes in breast tissues.

  • Breast cancer occurs only in women

This is also not true. In women, breast cancer is the most common disease in the world. According to the WHO, it accounts for 16% of all cases among women. But men are not protected from this diagnosis either. Another thing is that the strong half does not really know about the prevention of this type of cancer, therefore the diagnosis is made at advanced stages.

  • Cancer causes hair loss

Cancer patients do lose hair, but baldness most often occurs during radiation and chemotherapy. Modern methods of fighting cancer have reached the point that today it is possible to act only on the affected cells; with such treatment, there will be no alopecia.

This is just a small part of the myths that we wanted to tell you, follow our news to find out more.
